First Provo Baptism!!

Hey everyone. Well, it was Christmas this last week I hope you all had a good one. I spent mine with my companions. There were families that adopted the missionaries so I got a nice big packgage from a family I didn't know to open which was really sweet. Unfortunately we didn't get word about the package my brother dropped off Christmas Eve that had presents from different parts of the family until after Christmas. We will be picking up the box today from the mission office. So thank you in advance!

The rest of Christmas day we spent visiting families and sharing messages.

We are teaching a South African boy named Jaymie. His immediate family is not Mormon, but he has an aunt and uncle he is living with that helped convert him and got him baptized since he decided he wanted to live in America his senior year going to Timpview by living with his aunt and uncle who are converts.
Sadie got baptized on Saturday, unfortunately I didn't get to see is since I was as sick as a dog. I had a fever, sore throat, cold, uckkk. I've still got the cold, but at least the others are gone.

Brother Yarro (one of the ward missionaries) took us out to eat on Thursday at Shoots over at the Riverwoods in Provo. The guy owns several companies and bought for us the elders and a bunch of other people. Brother Yarro is great and really involved in his calling as a ward missionary and is always talking to us about members we can help. Bro Yarro was also the one that helped us fund the one family for Secret Santa. He's a really giving guy. Alright well I'll talk to yall later.

Funny Christmas Shirts

Well, this week has been good. We have continued to visit some of the less actives.

We had two baptismal interviews this week. Sadie who is 9 and Diana who is an adult in her 50's. Diana has been going to church and acting like a Mormon for 7 years or something and is finally going through with the baptism.

We had a Christmas party for the zone. The mission President and his wife presented us with their gifts for us by him and his wife prancing out on the stage in the gym wearing shirts they made us saying, "Arise!" which they had printed on the shirts. The only thing was, was that the "i" was in yellow with the rest of the letters in black so you couldn't actually see the "i". So the mission president and his wife passed out shirts with what looked like the Scottish swear word for butt to 280 missionaries to wear. There were many elders from Scotland or other parts of Europe laughing hysterically when the president and his wife came out on stage with these shirts. I think the president was clueless the whole time.

We have gone over to one members house several times. The mom is the German Professor at BYU. They have a total of 11 kids. Seven of these kids are living at home and under the age of 10. Five of these kids are adopted black girls. All the children are well behaved and their house is immaculately clean both times we've come over, which one time was unexpected for them. The mom gives the children her full attention...anyways I think this lady had more than a 24 hour day to do everything.

We went over to Heritage yesterday to teach the girls Sophie and Madi. One of the staff gave Sophie a blessing at the end which he proceeded to tell Sophie that the blessing isn't magic and she still needs to do her part. Sophie exclaimed, "Well it sure felt like magic! I felt it go down my back!". Well folks that's about it for the week. Have a great Christmas!

Christine is A Few Blocks Away From Winston & Laura

Sister Behle's first letter from Provo :)

"So, while the Provo mission covers from Nephi to Thanksgiving Point (North to South) and Heber to Roosevelt (East to West) I actually live a couple blocks from you and cover your stake, along with two others.  ****She is referring to Winston and Laura****I'm really far away!!

I'm in a trio with Sister Peterson and Sister John.  They are both 19.  Sister Peterson is from Texas and Sister John is from California.

Oh one of the bishops we work with is Brian Neff from across the street from Grandma and Grandpa.  He said I looked like Aunt Connie...I have now been told I look like Aunt Becky, Aunt Connie, and Aunt Janice by different people...anyways.

Well there hasn't been a ton that has happened since it's only been six days and let's face it...it's not really new territory.  We work with a BYU boy who was converted 3 months ago and is working on going on a mission.

Then we work with Lindsey Stirling's family friend and costume designer (Shannon), we played Secret Santa with one of the wealthy ward missionaries who bought her and her little girl a bunch of presents and then we dropped them off, bc despite her working for Lindsey Stirling  apparently she doesn't make a ton.

Ummm well we are going to work on some choreography for a skit we are going to do for the mission talent show. "
